Dr. Bethanie Schatz
Dr. Bethanie Schatz received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University, College of Chiropractic in 2005. Dr. Schatz also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. After 7 years of education and hands-on experience, her energy and passion for patient care is unmatched. Dr. Schatz is fully committed to providing the care necessary so her patients can meet and surpass their health goals. Dr. Schatz specializes in Applied Kinesiology, which uses muscle testing to help diagnose specific needs for each individual. Chiropractic treatment offers you hands-on, effective treatments which can help to relieve pain and inflammation in your neck, back, and extremities. Chiropractic treatments offer alternatives which are non-invasive, non-surgical and natural.
Dr. Bethanie Schatz uses a natural and conservative approach to your health concerns. Dr. Schatz uses manual and activator techniques, as well as drop-piece table adjusting and nutritional counseling. Dr. Schatz is also a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner which helps with lymphatic drainage and muscle strains. Along with unique skills, she brings energy and a positive attitude to meet your health needs.

Dr. Shaina Ostby
Dr. Shaina Ostby received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University, College of Chiropractic in 2011. Dr. Ostby also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, as well as a minor in Biochemistry from Bemidji State University in 2007. After 9 years of education and hundreds of additional hours in continuing education seminars Dr. Ostby has a passion for providing the best possible care for each patient utilizing the most current research. Dr. Ostby specializes in S.O.T which uses muscle testing, cranial work, and organ work to help diagnosis and treat patients for their individual health needs. Dr. Ostby is one of the few doctors in Minnesota that has attained a Webster certification, a technique which balances a woman’s pelvis during pregnancy, allowing better fetal positioning, decreasing pain, and often shortening labor. She is also pursuing her diplomat in pediatrics with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
When Dr. Ostby isn’t spending time with patients she loves spending time with her wonderful husband as well as her beautiful and energetic two year old daughter, Libby. She also enjoys running, cross-country skiing, yoga, and reading.
Christy Olson
Office Manager
Christy Olson joined the United States Navy Reserves in 1991 and pursued a career as a Personnelman. She graduated from Albuquerque TV-I in 1996 with a degree in Liberal Arts and then continued her education at the University of New Mexico. In 2000 Christy moved with her family to Minnesota, and started working for Dr. Schatz in 2006. Christy is the mother of four wonderful children that keep her busy.

Dayna Shimizu-Brummel
Chiropractic Assistant (CA)
Dayna Shimizu-Brummel grew up in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School in 1999. Dayna spent 17 years playing soccer and another 4 coaching for HYAA. She attended college in Rockford, IL as well as in La Crosse, WI. She spent 5 years as a Veterinary Technician both here in Hastings as well as in Onalaska, WI. Dayna has previous experience as a physical therapy aide and receptionist in another chiropractic clinic before she joined Power Within. Chiropractic is close to her heart as her grandfather was a chiropractor for over 50 years in St. Louis Park. Dayna's hobbies include dirt biking, watching movies, and spending time at her family's cabin.

Annie Taylor
Chiropractic Assistant (CA)
Annie Taylor grew up in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School in 2006. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. Annie played soccer for 12 years and joined the club rugby team her senior year of high school. She was also involved in the Hastings High School choir and show choir programs. She plans to attend grad school in the near future. She has worked as a receptionist at a medical clinic and also as a nursing assistant at an assisted living center. She enjoys the outdoors, watching and playing sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Mara James
Massage Therapist
Mara James grew up in St. Paul Park and graduated from Park High School in 1999. She attended Sister Rosalind Gefre’s School of Professional Massage and received her certification in Massage Therapy. Mara uses Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques and is an experienced prenatal therapist. She is also certified as an infant massage instructor. Mara works collaboratively with chiropractors and physical therapists to achieve patient health goals. She enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, Hunter and Scout, outdoor activities and classic automobiles. Mara is currently pursuing a degree in nursing at Inver Hills Community College.
